Ross Perot had an opportunity to invest in the then nascent Home Depot. He decided not to make the $2 million investment because Home Depot’s founders—Bernard Marcus and Arthur Blank— insisted on keeping their Cadillacs. Ross Perot refused to invest in company whose executives drove Cadillacs. Had Ross Perot been willing to overlook this petty issue, this $2 million investment would have been worth over $100 billion and Ross Perot could have become the wealthiest man in the world.

There is definitely a monumental message in this post. Not judging the caliber of a person but the external trappings can cost big time.
